More about Thom Harrigan

Thom Harrigan, a clinical social worker and educator, has a diverse history of working with individuals, families, and groups in settings ranging from schools and community based service agencies to employee assistance programs, prisons, nursing homes, universities, the public and private sectors, and internationally. A classically trained practitioner with a commitment to social justice and equality, his focus has become the complex changes facing survivors of dysfunctional families, institutional and systemic abuse, natural disasters, war and conflict.

In addition to his clinical practice Thom has consulted to agencies, organizations, and groups nationally and abroad. He is currently working to broaden understanding of child abuse and recovery with an international and cross-cultural perspective. Practicing, teaching, and consulting from a trauma-informed perspective, Thom assists those he works with to develop insight and understanding, promoting pragmatic and sustainable improvement of their quality of life.
